Editorial policy

Here's how coverage on this site actually gets made, and what money or free hardware can and can't buy.

AI is a tool we use to help, not one we use to write for us. It can speed up the grunt work - pulling together cited sources, drafting a first pass, double-checking facts we already have - but it does not create our coverage. A person does the reporting and the thinking, makes the calls, and reviews and publishes everything; nothing goes live that a human hasn't read and stood behind. We never let it invent a score, a sales number, or an award, and an AI-assisted draft is only a starting point, never a finished piece.

We accept review copies of games and hardware units for testing. When we do, the piece says so - that's disclosed, not left out of the page. Sending us a copy or a unit does not buy coverage: we don't guarantee we'll cover anything, and we don't run paid reviews or accept payment for coverage of any kind. A vendor gets an honest look, nothing more and nothing less.

We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix it and note the change on the piece - what changed and roughly when. We're not going to quietly edit a number and pretend it was always right. If you spot something wrong, use the contact form and tell us.
