The game includes a single-player campaign alongside competitive multiplayer modes. Multiplayer introduces an omnidirectional movement system, letting players sprint, dive, and slide in any direction for more dynamic combat encounters.
Black Ops 6 also features a cooperative round-based Zombies mode. According to IGDB, the title had the longest development cycle in Call of Duty history at four years, during which the team rebuilt core Black Ops systems using a new shared engine.
