Caves of Qud

Caves of Qud is a role-playing game developed and published by Freehold Games, available on PC and Switch, released December 5, 2024.

The game is a science fantasy roguelike steeped in retro-futurism, deep simulation, and sentient plant life. It weaves a handwritten narrative through rich physical, social, and historical simulations, resulting in a hybrid world that is part handcrafted, part procedurally generated, where players can approach situations in a huge variety of ways.

Character building draws from over 70 mutations and defects along with 24 castes and kits, offering extensive diversity in how a character can be assembled and played.

Exploration spans procedurally-generated regions that include some familiar handcrafted locations, with each world spanning close to one million maps.
