Don't Scream is a short Unreal Engine 5 horror simulator that challenges players to survive 18 minutes in a haunted forest without screaming, using microphone detection to catch every jump or squeak.
Don't Scream is a horror simulator developed and published by Digital Cybercherries for PC, styled after '90s camcorder found footage. Built in Unreal Engine 5 by a two-person indie team, the game sets players loose in the mysterious Pineview Forest with one goal: survive 18 minutes without screaming.
The core mechanic ties directly into the player's own voice. An in-game microphone calibration detects whimpers, jumps, and even minor squeaks as screams, and any slip-up forces a restart. Time only advances while the player is moving, adding tension to every step forward.
With dozens of dynamic, unpredictable scares scattered throughout the forest, no two playthroughs unfold the same way. The result is a tightly focused horror experience built around self-control as much as exploration.
