Doom: The Dark Ages

Doom: The Dark Ages is a single-player first-person shooter developed by id Software and published by Bethesda Softworks, releasing on Xbox, PlayStation, and PC on May 15, 2025.

Set as a prequel to Doom (2016), the game takes players to the dark medieval world of Argent D'Nur, following the Doom Slayer's origin story with expanded cutscenes and character development.

Combat shifts toward a more grounded, weighty style that favors strategic engagements over the acrobatic mobility of previous entries. A new Shield Saw allows for blocking and parrying, complemented by additional melee weapons.

Players can also pilot drivable vehicles, including a cybernetic dragon and a massive mech, adding new dimensions to traversal and combat.
