Metro 2039 is a story-driven post-apocalyptic FPS from 4A Games, sending a haunted survivor known as the Stranger back into Moscow's Metro tunnels, coming to Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

The story takes place in 2039, a quarter century after the nuclear war that drove Moscow's survivors underground. The Metro tunnels are now united under Hunter, leader of the fanatical Novoreich regime, which rules through propaganda and fear while preparing for a new war against a dark enemy on the surface.
Players follow the Stranger, a reclusive figure living in exile beyond the city who is haunted by violent nightmares from his past. Forced from hiding, he undertakes a journey into the ruins of Moscow and back into the Metro he once swore never to return to.
The single-player campaign blends exploration, survival, combat, and stealth across a world built for atmosphere and immersion. The game draws inspiration from Dmitry Glukhovsky's Metro book trilogy.
