Sword of the Sea

Sword of the Sea is an action-adventure title developed and published by Giant Squid, the team known for Abzû and The Pathless. It sends players into a vast desert landscape as a character called the Wraith, exploring ancient ruins and piecing together a lost world.

Movement is built around the Hoversword, a traversal tool that blends surfing, skateboarding, and snowboarding mechanics into a single flowing style of play. The game leans heavily on fluid movement across its landscapes as a core part of the experience.

Alongside its traversal focus, Sword of the Sea offers atmospheric exploration and light puzzle-solving set against its desert world. It is set to release on PC and PlayStation on August 19, 2025.
